Recently, I have carefully read a good book, “Socialist Core Values,” which has really benefited a lot. Through reading, I know that China is a state of etiquette and a state of integrity. Honesty is honesty and trustworthiness. It is a moral tradition passed down by human society for thousands of years. It is also the key content of socialist moral construction, and it is the foundation of humanity and foundation.
The integrity and virtue of the Chinese nation can be said to have a long history. During the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, the Shang Dynasty’s Shangyu presided over the reform. Shang Yang ordered a three-footed wood outside the south gate of the city, and promised to the public: Who can move the wood to the north gate and enjoy the golden twelve. People don’t believe that such an easy thing can get so many rewards, and no one tries to try it. Shangyu raised the bounty to 50 two gold. There must be a brave man under the reward, and finally someone moved the wood to the north gate. He immediately got 50 two gold. In this way, the merchants quickly established a prestige in the hearts of the people, thus smoothly implementing the reforms, making the Qin country increasingly strong, and finally unifying the six countries. This story tells us that if you want to be respected by others, you must be honest and trustworthy.
In my current life, Dad often warns me that honesty is the foundation of being a person. I always think that it is a cliché. Until one time, Dad used his own behavior to make me really understand the truth.
That was what happened last summer, my father took me to the North Sea to play. At the door of the “Window of the World” sign on the door ticket for each hundred yuan, I took out 200 yuan from my father’s wallet to buy tickets. “Auntie, I bought two tickets!” I said to the cashier. The cashier smiled and asked: “How tall are you, children? Half a price below one meter and five.” I looked at the height line and thought: “If you can save 50 yuan, Dad must be very happy.” “One meter five, big… probably not.” I replied stutteringly. I quickly put a 150-dollar bill into her hand, and quickly approached the height line, slightly kneeling down, narrowing my neck, and taking two tickets and leaving. Who knows that Dad’s face sank immediately and whispered, “Small good, do you think it’s right?” “I’m just a little taller, paying two hundred yuan is too bad?” I whispered. “I can’t do anything. Honesty is the foundation of being a man. Is your character worth only 50 yuan?” I lowered my head in shame and hurry to make up the money.
This experience made me know that honesty is the bottom line of being a man. Once lost, no amount of money can be exchanged.
Confucius once said: “The words must be believed, the line must be fruitful.” Yes, honesty is the traditional virtue of the Chinese nation. It is like a bright light in the same life guiding us to the way forward. Let us use a sincere heart to face the society from an early age, face others, be an honest and trustworthy person.
